Welcome to the Gamers Village Warhammer 40,000 Competitive League!

This league has been designed for experienced Warhammer 40,000 players looking to test their skills over multiple weeks of competitive play before battling it out in a final championship tournament.

While this is a competitive environment, our goal is to create an enjoyable experience where great games, good sportsmanship, and an awesome community come first.

Think strategically, play fairly, and most importantly—have fun.

The entry for the league itself will be $40. And the price for the finals will be $50.

League Format

Duration:  12 weeks (each round lasts for 2 weeks)
Start: 18/09/2026
Rounds: 1 game per fortnight
Finals: Top 8 players advance to a Championship Tournament to determine the Gamers Village 40K Champion.
Each player will be paired with a new opponent every fortnight.

Players are responsible for organizing a mutually suitable time to complete their scheduled match during that round.

Failure to complete games may result in forfeits or reduced league points at the Tournament Organizer's discretion.

Army Construction

Army Size: 2000 Points
Current Matched Play Rules
Current Mission Pack (if a new mission pack is to be released during the time of the league we will still use the mission packs we started with).

Players must submit a single army before Round 1.

IMPORTANT

Your submitted army cannot be changed during the league.

Rules & Balance Updates

To ensure every player competes under the same conditions throughout the league:

Balance Data slates released during the league will be used imminently as its release.
New Codex releases will become legal during the league.
FAQ updates released after the league begins will be implemented unless required to fix a major rules issue.


This ensures every competitor plays under identical conditions from Round 1 through to the Grand Final.

Fortnightly Pairings

Each Fortnight:

Pairings will be posted by the Tournament Organizer every second Monday.
Players have two week to complete their game. And sent to (Reece.J) on discord.
Results must be submitted before the fortnightly deadline, that day will be every second Monday night.
Late results may not be counted.
League Scoring

League standings are determined by League Points earned each round.

Victory Margin | League Points

Victory Difference League Points
Win by 50+ VP 10 Points
Win by 40–49 VP 8 Points
Win by 30–39 VP 6 Points
Win by 20–29 VP 4 Points
Win by 10–19 VP 2 Points
Win by 1-9 VP 1 Point
Draw 1 Point each
Loss 0 Points
The larger your victory margin, the more League Points you'll earn toward the standings.

Championship Tournament

At the conclusion of the six-fortnight league:

The highest eight players will qualify for the Gamers Village Championship Tournament.

This tournament will determine the inaugural:

Tournament format will be announced closer to the Finals.

Player Expectations

This league is intended for experienced Warhammer 40,000 players.

Participants should have:

A solid understanding of the core rules
Knowledge of their own army
The ability to play at a reasonable pace
A willingness to resolve rules questions respectfully
Competitive play is encouraged—but good sportsmanship is expected at all times.

Poor behavior, intentional slow play, cheating, or unsporting conduct may result in warnings or removal from the event.

All pairings will be posted Monday between the time of 4pm to 10pm and you have 2 weeks (1 fortnight) to complete your game. Main day of play will be on Friday between 5pm and 10pm

Each round, players should bring:

Their army
Printed or digital army list
Dice
Measuring tools
Objective markers
Tokens
Rulebooks/Codex
Approved FAQs (where applicable)
Sportsmanship

Winning is important.

Respect is more important.

We expect every player to:

Be on time.
Communicate with opponents.
Play honestly.
Resolve disagreements politely.
Remember that everyone is here to enjoy the hobby.
Competitive games should still be enjoyable for both players.

Finally, if you have been set for a game and you do not communicate with your opponent or Reece.j on discord in any way  before the next pairings you will forfeit the round and will be kicked from the League.
